Brian L. Pauling, CPA, CGMA, CCEP, CDP, CFE is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Business Foundations. He believes that every individual and every organization has the opportunity to achieve excellence and leave an enduring legacy. A legacy that will live in the hearts and minds of those we touch - the employees, the customers, the families, the friends, and the communities in which we live - long after we are gone. Throughout his professional career, Mr. Pauling has served in a variety of executive, management and consulting capacities in a diverse array of industries. He is highly regarded for his transformational leadership, coaching and expertise in successfully creating and executing strategic goals and leading efficiency initiatives that optimize financial and operational performance. Mr. Pauling holds over 25 years of experience developing, implementing and monitoring policies, practices and procedures to exceed metrics and key performance indicators.
Mr. Pauling spent six years in Public Accounting performing Assurance and Advisory Services with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young, LLP. He has served in the Gas and Electric Utility Industry for nearly 20 years making transformational changes in the areas of Utility Accounting, Acquisition Integration, Internal and External Financial Reporting and Analysis (including SEC, and other state regulatory agencies), Financial Planning and Analysis, Billing, Credit and Collections, Bankruptcy Reporting, Special Projects, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Compliance, and Ethics and Corporate Governance Compliance. Execution of his vision as President and CEO of 100 Black Men of America, Inc., the largest African American led mentoring organizations in the country, changed the life trajectory for thousands of low income and minority youth across the country and abroad.
As a consultant, trainer and keynote speaker, Mr. Pauling assists organizations and individuals across the country in the areas of Leadership Development, Process Improvement/Reconstruction, Ethichs and Compliance, and Diversity Training. In 2007, Mr. Pauling added the title of Author to his list of professional accomplishments by publishing his personal growth and development book, The Recruit: - Life Lessons -.
Mr. Pauling graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. He also completed summer studies in the areas of Comparative Asian Industrial Systems and the Sociology of Japan at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He has attained accreditations as a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional, Certified Diversity Professional, Certified Fraud Examiner and Education Policy Fellow.
