Brian L. Pauling, CPA, CGMA, CCEP, CDP is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Business Foundations. He believes that every individual and every organization has the opportunity to achieve excellence and leave an enduring legacy. Throughout his professional career, Mr. Pauling has served in a variety of executive, management and consulting capacities in a diverse array of industries. Mr. Pauling spent six years in Public Accounting performing Assurance and Advisory Services with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young, LLP. He has also served in the Gas and Electric Utility Industry for nearly 20 years holding responsibilities in the areas of Utility Accounting, Acquisition Integration, Internal and External Financial Reporting and Analysis (including SEC, and other state regulatory agencies), Financial Planning and Analysis, Billing, Credit and Collections, Bankruptcy Reporting, Special Projects, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Compliance, and Ethics and Corporate Governance Compliance.
As a consultant, trainer and keynote speaker, Mr. Pauling has assisted organizations and individuals across the country in the areas of Leadership Development, Process Improvement, Process Reconstruction, and Diversity Training. In 2007, Mr. Pauling added the title of Author to his list of professional accomplishments by publishing his book, The Recruit: - Life Lessons -.
Mr. Pauling graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. He also completed summer studies in the areas of Comparative Asian Industrial Systems and the Sociology of Japan at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional, and a Certified Diversity Professional.
